So perhaps Laura may write another sequel to this epic story, but another season seems to be off the cards for now. As the novel opens, an unfamiliar teenage girl in dirty soccer cleats arrives at Hannah’s door with a note from Owen. And in other ways, I feel like this is meant to be a limited series.' And so, in some ways, I feel as though there's more story to tell.

Laura Dave may have been a little more optimistic in this interview as she said, 'I wanted it to be an ode to the different ways that that journey looks for all of us, and an ode to found family. I've given it a 4/10 rating after 3 episodes and if I do watch the rest and find it was worthwhile I will come back and raise it.Unfortunately, in an interview with Digital Spy, screenwriter Josh Singer revealed that the 'story is complete' and while he added 'So I don't know,' it seemed that the series is unlikely to be renewed for a second season. If I never got to see episode 4 it wouldn't be a problem.

This is the sort of series that does not benefit from being released one episode at a time as I can imagine many viewers will switch off from it. The two main stars in this series are actors I enjoy watching usually but Jennifer Garners character seems clueless in how to have a relationship with a teenager and even if they learn to come together I can't see why I would think it's an enjoyable journey to watch. I accept that I only have three episodes to base my review on but I found that I'm becoming increasingly irritated with the teenager and her brat persona.
